Our Story
Carpathian Salt is a new London-based brand operated by Ocanom Ltd. Our founder's fascination with Romania's remarkable rock salt deposits — the white and soft grey "aurul alb" formed in the Miocene epoch roughly 13–20 million years ago — led to a simple mission: bring this exceptional ingredient to discerning kitchens in presentations worthy of its heritage.
We source our salt from licensed deposits at Salina Târgu Ocna in the Carpathian Mountains. Each block is hand-inspected, cut, and finished in our South West London workshop (SW11), then nestled into handcrafted walnut boxes with premium graters — ready to gift.
Batch 001 — our Founder's Edition — marks the beginning of this journey. We're committed to plastic-free packaging, UK food hygiene standards, and creating products that bring genuine delight to every unboxing.
